Nōshi (直衣)

An unlined, long-sleeved garment worn by male characters of the highest standing. Used as a substitute for unlined kariginu, it is rarely seen on stage. The nōshi is traditionally worn with a type of crown known as an uikanmuri, or a type of kimono with a shortened tail known as a sashinuki.
