Tsubo-ori (壺折)

One way of wearing a costume. The bottom of a kimono such as the kaori is raised to the knees, and both sides of the collar are loosened to the chest in a more curvy style. The extra length is folded into the hip area. There are two types of tsubo-ori – one is over the waist to show that a female character is going out, and the other is a delicate formal style used for noblewomen worn over the ōkuchibakama.
