Bōfuri (棒振リ)

“Stick waving” – a type of dance in kyōgen. In the play Nabeyatsubachi, a man selling Kakko, double-headed drums, waves a long stick with only flutes as musical accompaniment. The waving of the stick eventually becomes faster, and the intricate hand movement is beautiful to watch.
