A form in Noh and kyōgen. After moving the fan held in the right hand to the right, it is taken in front of the body and pulled toward the chest, then moved forward. Uchikomi often follows the sayū (“left right”) form, and its form may change depending on the type of sayū (while two forward steps are taken after the standard sayū, but there may be more steps after a large sayū). The uchikomi may also often be followed by the ageōgi form. The pattern sayū, uchikomi, shitai (sitting with one knee on the floor) often follows the conclusion of the dancing of shimai or komai.
