One type of wig worn by the performers. Used for the roles of aging men. To represent white hair, it is made of hair with a strong yellow hue. Worn from the performer’s collar to head, it is attached with thread that follows the placement of the hairs, and a large topknot is formed from the hairs which falls to the back of the head, with the front of the head covered by hairs folded back over. Each time the jōgami is worn, it is tied to fit the individual performer’s head.
