One of the books of librettos. Published in old typefaces from the Momoyama era to the Keichō era of the early Edo period, it is a book of chanting from the Kanze School. The title Kōetsu utaibon is used because the volume is written in the Kōetsu style of calligraphy. There are three editions: special, specially coloured, and deluxe. The special edition has the most beautiful binding, with a mica pattern printed on the front cover and on all the paper for the written content. The specially coloured edition has a mica pattern on the front cover and specially-coloured paper for the content. The deluxe edition has a mica pattern on the front cover and Chinese-white (ground oyster shell) brush-dyed writing paper for the content.
