Shōgi (床几)

The kazuraoke, or chair used by the shitekata, wakikata and kyōgenkata. The shōgi is around 50cm tall, with a diameter of around 30cm and is cylindrical in shape, with small feet on the bottom and covered in black and gold or silver lacquer. Shōgi for the ōtsuzumikata and kotsuzumikata are folding mats used to sit on during performances.
