Shikaridome (叱リ留)

A type of kyōgen performance that ends with the master scolding his servant, giving it its meaning “scolding end.” For example, the kyōgen play Shibiri ends with the servant Taro being scolded by his master for feigning illness. The shikaridome that ends this calamitous moment and is truly characteristic of the graceful nature of kyōgen.
