Among the nan or shura-mono (niban-me-mono) performances in the Goban Date style, “shin-nan-nyo-kyō-ki,” plays featuring the winning general of a war are known as kachishura-mono (kachi meaning “winning”) and makeshura-mono (make meaning “losing”), portraying losing generals. Kachishura-mono include only the three plays Tamura, Ebira and Yashima, which are also known as Kachishura Sanban. The remaining shura-mono are all makeshura-mono, and include several dozen plays such as Kiyotsune, Atsumori and Yorimasa.
