Plays full of the celebratory spirit that distinguishes waki Noh performances, including Takasago, Yumiyawata and Oimatsu. All of the honwaki Noh plays have gods as their main characters, and focus on the celebration of order and peace. Waki Noh are intended to be performed after Shikisanban (Okina), plays known as Okina-zuke, or “accompanying Okina,” and plays that cannot be used as Okina-zuke where the waki appears as a monk are not used as honwaki Noh.
