Katanugi (肩脱ぎ)

One way of wearing a costume. One sleeve of the kimono is unworn. Katanugi are used in particular for generals appearing with swords or bows and arrows. The right sleeve (the left where a bow is carried) of the happi or chōken is unworn, and the sleeve is rolled up and placed between the hakama and the back. Katanugi is often used for generals in shura-mono.
