One style in which wigs are worn by female performers. The nagakazura is worn for the roles of angels or crazed women. The hairs of the wig, tied at around the collar using a mottoi, are not placed inside a garment such as a chōken or karaori, but rather are allowed to hang down on the outside. Decorations known as hiramottoi or hanemottoi made of folded Japanese paper are placed on the knot of the hair of the wig. Long hair extensions (kamoji), known as nagakamoji, are used where kogaki are included in the Noh play Aoi no Ue.
