Dokugin (独吟)

In Dokugin, one actor sits on the stage and chants the best part of the vocal. This does not follow the music. In ¬danmono, or plays in several acts, such as Tama-No-Dan (Ama), U-No-Dan and Ukai, dokugin are often performed or kuse or kiri are sung. Dokugin may also refer to scenes in Noh where an actor sings alone. In either case, scenes where two or more actor sing are known as rengin.
