A piece of scenery that is carried in and set on the stage. It is a wooden platform, half the size of ichijōdai, which is the same size as a tatami mat, and about 20 cm high. The platform is covered with a daikake cloth and brought onto the stage, where it is used with or in place of ichijōdai to express height. There are round holes at the four corners of the platform, and sometimes the pillars of a hut are inserted into them.
