Enbi-zukin (燕尾頭巾)

A kind of costume used for kyōgen plays. A hood worn for a role different from the average person, such as a san’oki (fortune teller) or a buraimono (violent person), it is characterized by the section that hangs backwards and is divided into two parts, like a swallow’s tail. Depending on the role, fabrics such as gold brocade with flashy colours and patterns are often used.
